it seems we don’t get to say the things we want about a person until they’re gone. and that’s just terrible. i guess i just didn’t expect her to go so soon. well, i’m gonna say them anyway. this post is personal. my friend died.

charlotte. you were better than me in every way. you came along and taught me what it means to be badass. watching you play bass with your dad was the most impacting music experience of my life. i will think of you in sunsets, drink of you in whiskey, and sing of you right where you belong – against the sweet low hush of an amp turned way, way up. i love you, charlotte.
